From Slate’s “Explainer” column, re: whether targeted assassinations are legal:
The Israeli military regularly engages in targeted killings. That country’s Supreme Court has ruled that these are legal so long as the targets are actively engaged in fighting or else work as full-time militants.
What if they’re, like, independent contractor militants and they work less than 30 hours a week and receive no benefits? (Seriously, i would be curious to see what the technical requirements are for full-time militant vs. part-time militant.)
speaking as a roofer, I can say that a roofer’s personal politics come heavily into play when choosing jobs.
